Job Summary:

 

The UCP 21^st Century/Title 1 Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading the 21st Century grant-funded afterschool program in partnership with individual sites/schools. This position will be responsible for coordinating with specified schools and leading staff to ensure compliance, overseeing the academic intervention and enrichment programming, as well as helping establish the community learning center concept at the assigned schools.   Also responsible for ensuring compliance with individual schools Title I.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

• Oversee and manage all 21st Century Community Learning Center grant requirements ensuring UCP Charter Schools meet the stated objectives and performance goals in academic achievement, youth development, and parent engagement.
• Manage and ensure timely compliance of all reporting requirements including processing of student registrations, attendance, and other required reports.      
• Develop and implement system for regular communication with site coordinators, families and principals.
• Develop system for regular communication with families.
• Plan and lead monthly family nights.
• Monitor budget, order/inventory required supplies and curriculum
• Develop and adhere to daily schedule/lesson plans for the program.
• Develop and adhere to positive behavior support system for the program
• Develop and adhere to discipline policy for the program
• Act as a contact person for UCP Charter Schools with the Department of Education for 21^st Century Grant.
• Develop collaborations with community-based agencies and businesses to support the program/in-kind support.
• Recruit, hire and evaluate staff and recruit, supervise and evaluate program volunteers.
• Ensure Title I paperwork compliance with all UCP Campuses (i.e. track paperwork and reporting requirements).
• Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.

 

Education and Training:  

• BA degree in the field of education, public administration or related field
• First Aid/CPR Trained
• DCF 45 Hours

Minimum Experience/Skills 

• Experience in managing after school/ summer programming or youth development programming for elementary students.
• Supervisory experience
• Strongly prefer experience monitoring federal grant requirements.
• Strong organization and excellent written and communication skills
• Commitment to helping all students succeed
• Knowledge of developmentally-appropriate curriculum activities for helping students develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
• Ability to identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds learning styles, and special needs.
