Job Specifications: (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required)

Requires a general knowledge of performing arts disciplines and will assist in partnership with administrators and classroom teachers to integrate performing arts (music, drama, and dance) into curriculum. Successful candidate will have gained experience through education, training, and/or involvement in community based arts organizations. Must have experience working with students (k-12th grade), a positive approach to working with families and staff, and the ability to assist in managing a busy classroom while remaining dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct, instructional support, coaching and guidance to teachers integrating performing arts within their classrooms and embedded throughout the curriculum(s).
  2. Develop, select and model lessons that meaningfully integrate the performing arts (music, dance, and drama/theater) as an instructional strategy and incorporate use of arts integration.
  3. Collaborate with teachers to develop plans to improve student performance in academic subjects through arts integrations.
  4. Assists teachers in developing accommodations and adaptations to ensure full participation of all students
  5. Assists teachers in creating an arts integrated classroom environment that provide for student involvement in the learning process and enables each students to achieve their learning objectives by coaching and guiding teachers.
  6. Provide input regarding the planning of instructional goals, objectives and methods in arts integration.
  7. Participates in and delivers arts integration professional development to families and staff members.
  8. Assist in creation and implementation of performances (i.e. Share performances, shows, etc.)
  9. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  10. Minimum Experience:
  1. 1 year or more experience working with age range/grade level assigned.
  2. Prefer experience working with students with special needs in a multi-disciplinary setting

Education and Training:

  1. G.E.D. or High School Diploma
  2. AND
  3. 4 years of documented training in performing arts discipline
  4. AND
  5. 45 Hour Department of Children and Family Training
  6. First Aid/CPR Certification
